President Donald Trump said Thursday that Israel and Lebanon agreed to extend their ceasefire by three weeks after meeting with top US officials at the White House.
“The meeting was great!” Trump said in a satya social post Announcement of extension of temporary ceasefire.
“The United States is going to work with Lebanon to help protect itself from Hezbollah,” Trump wrote, referring to the Iran-backed militia group.
“The ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon will be extended for three weeks,” he wrote.
Trump’s post said “high-ranking representatives” from both countries met with him in the Oval Office, including Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee and US Ambassador to Lebanon Michelle Issa.
