    Living on a fixed income can be a challenge for retirees, so it’s important to shop wisely and know where to find the best deals to make the most of your senior discount days.

    While age requirements and discounts vary by location, you can cut costs just by knowing when and where to shop (or which promo code to use). Here’s a look at nine retailers that are offering special senior fares, discounts and perks.

    Amazon

    While Amazon doesn’t technically offer a senior discount, some seniors qualify for it Prime Access subscription reduced If they get help from:

    • Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
    • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
    • Medicaid
    • Direct Express Debit Card (DE)
    • Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)

    • Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
    • Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC)
    • Tribal Assistance Eligibility Letter (TTANF)
    • Puerto Rico’s Nutrition Assistance Program (NAP)

    If you receive any qualifying government assistance, you may be eligible for a discounted membership. Eligible recipients can get Prime for just $6.99 per month.

    Your Costco membership is just as good as an AARP membership in your golden years, as it can yield serious savings across a variety of categories. For example, you can Save up to 80% on a variety of popular medications at Costco Pharmacy, and that’s just the beginning.

    The store’s Kirkland brand items can also be remarkably cost-effective. Even though Costco doesn’t offer specific senior discounts on memberships or in-store purchases, it does offer general discounts on hearing aids, gas, and other items that retirees need — and that makes the membership worth it.

    CVS shoppers age 60 and older are eligible for a variety of deals and offers just for older adults as part of the free ExtraCare program. You’ll also get a birthday reward, 2% back in ExtraBucks Rewards on purchases, and $4 off your first purchase after enrolling.

    Additionally, CVS offers free vaccines with most Medicare plans.

    On the first Tuesday of each month, seniors ages 55 and older can enjoy an additional 10% off select items. This special monthly discount can get you cheaper prices on:

    • Private brand groceries including Fred Meyer, Kroger, Simple Truth and others
    • Apparel, Shoes & Accessories
    • Home goods from departments such as toys, sporting goods, auto and garden.
    • Select Electronics

    Kohl’s

    Buyers age 60 and older receive one 15% discount Every Wednesday at Kohl’s on eligible in-store purchases. Although the discount can’t be combined with other percentage-off coupons or promotions, it can be used with dollar-off coupons like Kohl’s Cash, so you can save a bundle as long as you bring a valid ID to verify your age.

    MICHAELS

    Register for Michaels Rewards and get a senior discount of 10% on your entire purchase – including sale items – online and in-store every day. You can also get this senior discount on sale items. You can’t lose because Michaels Rewards accounts are free, and you can easily create an account in-store or online.

    Target

    Target Optical offers a special discount to AARP members. This includes an additional 10% off contact lenses, 50% off the purchase of an additional pair of prescription eyeglasses or sunglasses, and an additional $10 off Eyewear.

    Additionally, opening a Target Circle card lets you save 5% on purchases every day. Choose from a credit card, debit card or reloadable account to avail this benefit and many more.

    Walgreens

    People 55 and older can join myWalgreens for free and access special senior savings. This includes Senior Day discount on the first Tuesday of each month. This is known as “Senior Day”. You must show proof of age to receive the discount.

    This steal deal applies to eligible regular-priced items in store. You should note that certain items like alcohol, tobacco and prescriptions are excluded from the exemption. you can do it too Use code SENIOR20 online According to Walgreens, get 20% off select regular-priced items.

    If you are an AARP member, you can receive $40 Off Walmart+ Annual Membership. It comes with a variety of benefits, including free delivery from your Walmart store, free shipping with no order minimum, fuel discounts, a complimentary Paramount+ or Peacock membership, free returns from home, 25% off every day at Burger King, and more.

    Alternatively, if you are not an AARP member but receive Medicaid, SNAP, WIC or other eligible forms of government assistance, you can get a Walmart+ membership for $6.47 per month or $49 per year.
