Quiet millionaires are on the rise, and they have money habits everyone can learn from.

Money expert Rachel Cruze explained in a Youtube video That rich people should not spread money here and there secretly. Instead, they plan ahead, avoid marketing traps and live below their potential.

According to the bestselling author and personal finance guru, here are six purchases that quiet millionaires never make.

    1. Extended Warranty

While the person behind the counter can rave about all the benefits of purchasing an extended warranty, Cruz said the cool millionaire doesn’t waste money on these extra expenses. Instead, he encouraged his listeners to create an emergency fund to help pay for essentials.

according to consumer adviceExtended warranties are usually a bad investment. Although they are often highly profitable for the retailer, the reality is that the products generally have low failure rates or warranties come with significant exclusions or limitations.

    2. Endless Subscriptions

According to Cruz, the next thing quietly rich people rarely spend money on is endless subscriptions. He explained that they are often finicky with their subscriptions and may do an “autopay audit” to make sure they are only paying for what they use.

An annual membership survey by CNET found that the average adult in the US pays more than $200 per year on unused subscriptions. Overall, Americans spend more than $1,000 per year on used and unused subscriptions, with many paying for multiple services. Auditing these subscriptions regularly can help keep expenses under control.

    3. Sales Clutter

According to Cruz, while some people live for nothing more than a good deal, cool millionaires don’t fall for marketing tactics. He explained that he does not buy things just because they are on sale.

What may surprise many bargain hunters is that a sale may not always be a sale. As mentioned in the episode “Your Money Briefing” wall street journalRetailers have been sued for deceptive marketing practices by raising the price of an item to a certain amount and then “discounting” it back to its original price.

    4. Credit card purchases only for points

While credit card points may seem attractive to the average consumer, quiet millionaires don’t base their spending on potential rewards. As Cruz explained, many of the benefits aren’t worth it. Trying to locate them consumes significant “mental calories” and can trap the user in debt.

Instead, he said quiet millionaires live below their means and usually plan for expenses in advance.

    5. Designer logo as a money symbol

According to Cruz, another trap that cool millionaires don’t fall into is “designer logos as symbols of wealth”. He said they look for good quality, not just big logos.

Instead of buying luxury items to show off their wealth, they focus on how to use their money to make more money.

    6. Newly Launched Technology

Finally, the money expert said the quiet millionaires aren’t jumping on the latest technology. Again, they do not deviate from the marketing strategy. Instead, they use what they have and get upgrades when needed.
