According to a notice on the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website, Tesla is recalling more than 14,000 vehicles due to missing weight labels, which can lead to vehicle overloading and accidents.

“The absence of a certification label with weight specifications may cause customers to overload the vehicle, increasing the risk of an accident,” the notice said.

As of mid-May, Tesla has received no reports of warranty claims, field reports, collisions, deaths, or injuries related to the recall.

Here’s what to know about the models included in the recall and what car owners should do.

Which models are included in the Tesla recall?

Approximately 14,575 vehicles have been recalled for the following models:

According to the safety recall report, 11,878 vehicles for model year 2026 and 2,697 vehicles for model year 2025 are involved.

What should consumers do if they have vehicles included in the Tesla recall

Tesla said the company will inspect the vehicles included in the recall for free and add a label if necessary.

The company began notifying dealers on May 21. Tesla will tell customers about the measure on or around July 17.

The NHTSA number for the recall is 26V315. Tesla’s number for the recall is SB-26-19-002.
