Memorial Day is coming, and restaurants across the country are offering deals.
The federal holiday this year will fall on May 25, giving some people a long weekend.
Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday of May each year, is a “day of remembrance”, according to the Wounded Warrior Project.
According to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, the day is also observed as a time of prayer. The 2026 proclamation calls on Americans to “commemorate Memorial Day by praying for lasting peace, in accordance with your personal religious belief.”
As people get ready for the long weekend, restaurants are offering a number of freebies, deals and discounts to take advantage of.
