A new Marshalls store may be opening near you soon.

TJX, which also oversees TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, Sierra and HomeSense stores, bills itself as an “off-price retailer of apparel and home fashion.” According to its website, the company was founded in 1976 and operates more than 5,200 stores in nine countries on three continents. The company said in its fourth-quarter earnings report that it currently owns and operates more than 1,250 Marshalls stores.

According to its website, Marshalls is opening four stores in four different states in late April. In 2024, CEO Ernie Herrmann said the company’s goal was to open at least 1,300 additional locations across TJX’s store portfolio.

Where are the new Marshalls stores going to open?

According to the retailer’s website, the new stores are scheduled to open in the following locations on fall 2026 dates:

    • April 23: 1310 Oklahoma Avenue, Woodward, Oklahoma
    • April 23: 850 Third Avenue, Brooklyn, New York
    • April 23: 900 DeKalb Plaza Blvd., Fort Payne, Alabama
    • April 30: 1610 Church St., Conway, South Carolina

In addition to the stores listed, Marshalls has also recently opened stores in Texas, Kentucky, Nebraska, and Florida.

    What does Marshalls sell?

Similar to TJ Maxx, Marshalls sells items in several categories, including clothing, home, and beauty. Other items include Halloween decorations, pet toys, makeup and accessories.

TJX launched Marshalls’ e-commerce site, Marshalls.com, in 2019, allowing customers to shop online.

According to the TJX website, the brand’s first two stores opened in Massachusetts in 1977, and the company acquired Marshalls in 1995. At the time, Marshalls was the second largest off-price retailer in the United States with 496 stores.
