President Donald Trump said Thursday that “the war in Iran is slowly coming.”
“This should be over very soon,” Trump said at an event in Las Vegas. He repeated similar rosy predictions about the end of the war that he had made since the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran in late February.
The President said, “It was perfect. It was perfect. It was the power we had.” “We had the most powerful army anywhere in the world.”
The President’s appearance was to promote his “No Tax on Tips” policy, which eliminated federal income taxes on tip-based wages for many workers.
A few hours before this, Trump had said that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire. Iran has complained about Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon during its 10-day ceasefire with the United States.
Trump said earlier Thursday that a second round of face-to-face talks between Americans and Iranian officials could take place “probably, probably, the end of next week.”
