A dad’s money-saving Chick-fil-A order has gone viral and racked up millions of views online after he revealed how his family of five eats at the fast-food chain for less than $45.
Pastor and podcaster Jeff Johnson shared the budget-friendly order in a social media video, saying his family skips individual meals and instead orders a 30-count nugget tray and some buttered buns.
“I have a hack for every dad who’s always wondering, ‘Why are we spending so much money at Chick-fil-A?'” Johnson said in a video posted to Instagram.
Johnson said that instead of buying a sandwich meal for each family member, her family orders a 30-count nugget entree and three buttered buns, which they use to make chicken sandwiches for their kids.
“Everybody’s happy. Dad’s happy,” Johnson said. “We saved a lot of money. I’m just saying you can eat at Chick-fil-A for less than $45 with a family of five. Do what I say. That’s all I’m saying. Bye.”
The video has been viewed millions of times in the week since it was first posted, with Johnson thanking viewers for “going viral” and telling his family about the accomplishment in the July 2 clip.

Johnson said the formula is simple: Order a 30-count nugget entree and buy as many buttered buns as you need to make the sandwich.
In the video, Johnson said the nuggets at his local restaurant cost a little more than $17 and the buns cost 25 cents each, though prices vary by market.
USA TODAY has learned that a 30-count nugget entrée order costs about $19 in Arizona. The price of a regular bun was not listed online.
