    Former Attorney General Pam Bondi defended it on Friday Department of JusticeManaging to release files on notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in his opening statement before a House panel.

    Bondi acknowledged in his opening statement that there were “redaction errors” in the release of the Epstein documents.

    Bondy also said that he “did not lead every aspect of this effort or review that document himself.”

    “I have entrusted the oversight of this process to Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanch,” Bondy said.

    Bondi was fired in early April by President Donald Trump, who was unhappy with his handling of issues related to the files about his former longtime friend Epstein.

    Blanch currently serves as the Acting Attorney General. He is Trump’s former criminal defense lawyer.

    “I am proud of the department’s record and commitment to transparency under my leadership,” Bondy said.

    “We demonstrated an unprecedented commitment to transparency in the discovery, collection and review of the Department’s Epstein files, generating nearly 3 million pages of content, including thousands of videos and hundreds of thousands of images.”

    “The bottom line is this: Justice and transparency in this case was delivered at the direction of President Trump and his administration,” he said.
