According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, FCA US LLC is recalling more than 60,000 vehicles in the United States due to power transfer unit failure.
According to the recall notice posted by NHTSA, a failed power transfer unit could result in a loss of drive power or cause the vehicle to roll, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.
The total number of vehicles affected by this recall is 61,711.

What should car owners do
NHTSA says the solution is currently under development; However, an interim owner notification letter explaining the safety risks is expected to be mailed on June 25, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once final resolution is available.
