You pay a lot of money for a new car, but nothing lasts forever. When the day comes that you want or need to sell that vehicle, you’ll want to recover as much of its value as possible.
According to vehicle research group Kelley Blue Book (KBB), the average 2026 model-year vehicle will retain only 45% of its MSRP (Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price) five years after leaving the lot.
KBB recently released its latest annual Best Resale Value AwardAnd the cars on its Top 10 list are projected to retain about 55% or more of their MSRP after five years.
Here’s a look at the 2026 vehicles that offer the most bang for your buck, according to KBB, although the ranking omits models with low sales volumes unless they’re electric, luxury or sports cars.
