Golf legend Tiger Woods told a police officer that he spoke to President Donald Trump on the phone shortly after his DUI rollover crash in Florida. Bodycam video obtained by TMZ and published Thursday’s shows.
“Thank you very much. OK. You got it. Bye,” Woods can be heard saying in the police video as he walked up to an officer who motioned him back to the crash site.
“I was just talking to the president,” Woods told police.
The golfer is then heard telling the man, whom TMZ describes as his manager, that he is “very sorry for what he did last night.”

Trump had claimed during an interview on Fox News’ “The Five” the evening before that Woods would not play in the upcoming Masters Tournament. A few days earlier, Woods had publicly kept open the possibility of playing in the Masters, and he had made no statement before the crash that he had decided not to participate.
Woods is dating Trump’s former daughter-in-law Vanessa Trump, who was previously married to Donald Trump Jr.
Woods, 50, was charged with driving under the influence by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office following Friday’s crash, which occurred after his Land Rover SUV collided with a truck trailer in Jupiter, Florida.
According to the arrest affidavit, the golfer had two opioid pills in his pants and had “bloodshot and glassy eyes,” “extremely dilated pupils” and was “sweating excessively.”
Immediately after the accident, Trump called Woods a “very close friend”.
“I feel terrible. He’s had some trouble. There was an accident and that’s all I know,” Trump told reporters. “He’s a wonderful person, a wonderful person, but there is some difficulty.”
“I am taking some time off to receive treatment and focus on my health. This is necessary for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward a lasting recovery,” Woods said Tuesday evening.
He has declared himself innocent in the case.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the video.
In February 2021, Woods drove an SUV in Southern California, seriously injuring his right leg. He has undergone several surgeries to deal with injuries sustained from that wreck.
Woods was arrested for DUI in Florida in May 2017 after police found him sleeping in a damaged car. After his arrest he had traces of the prescription drugs Vicodin, Dilaudid, Xanax, Ambien and THC, the psychoactive chemical in marijuana, in his system.
