President Donald Trump said Friday he is not satisfied with Iran’s new offer to end its two-month-old war with the United States and Israel.

“Iran wants to make a deal, but I’m not satisfied with it,” Trump told reporters at the White House. “Iran wants to make a deal because they have no army left.”

Asked why he was dissatisfied with Iran’s latest offer, Trump said, “They’re asking for things I can’t agree to.”

Earlier on Friday, Pakistani officials in Islamabad, who were involved in brokering peace talks between the US and Iran, confirmed to MS Now that Iran had sent them an updated proposal to end the war, which they had forwarded to US officials.

Speaking at the White House, Trump said Iran “has made progress” in talks with the US, “but I’m not sure if they’ll ever get there.”

The president said there is “tremendous discord” among Iran’s leaders, which has complicated the peace process.

“They are having tremendous difficulty getting along with each other,” Trump said. “In Iran, the leadership is very disjointed. There are two to three groups, maybe four, and it is a very disjointed leadership.”

“And that being said, they all want to make a deal, but they’re all messed up,” he said.
