Supplemental Security Income checks for the month of May are scheduled to be issued on May 1.
Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments are typically issued on the first day of the month, but sometimes payments go out early when the first calendar day of the month is a weekend or holiday. According to the Social Security Administration’s calendar, in May, the first day of the month falls on a Friday, and payments will be made on May 1.
This will continue for four consecutive months with SSI checks being issued on the 1st of the month. Then, in July, August checks will go out early on Friday, July 31, because August 1 is a Saturday.

What is Supplemental Security Income?
The Supplemental Security Income program, administered by the Social Security Administration, provides benefits for people who have limited or no income or resources, people age 65 and older, and those who are blind or have a qualifying disability. Children with qualifying disabilities are also eligible for SSI, according to the SSA website.
Adults who earn more than $2,073 monthly from work are generally not eligible for benefits. According to the agency, approximately 7.4 million Americans currently receive monthly SSI payments and about one-third of SSI recipients also receive Social Security benefits.
To see if you are eligible for SSI, visit the Social Security website. You can also visit your local Social Security office in person, or call 1-800-772-1213 (TTY 1-800-325-0778) from 8 AM to 7 PM local time during weekdays.
