More than 200,000 pairs of heated socks sold at Costco are being recalled after officials received reports of people suffering first- and second-degree burns, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

CPSC’s recall notice posted Thursday, April 23, says the “32 Degree Heated Socks” can pose a “risk of injury, including burns” when the user is performing high-intensity activities that generate a combination of “heat, excessive friction, moisture, and pressure.”

The recalled 207,000 socks were sold at Costco stores and online between August 2025 and March 2026, priced from $30 to $46 per pair. The recall notice said the socks were sold in three sizes: medium, large and extra large, all in black.

“Consumers should immediately stop using the heated socks and return them to Costco for a full refund,” the CPSC said.

According to the CPSC, 14 “heat-related incidents” have been recorded, 13 of which involved first- or second-degree burns.

    What should customers do?

The CPSC asks any customers who have the recalled socks to immediately stop using them and return them to Costco for a full refund. Customers who purchased the recalled socks online can return the recalled socks through Costco’s online returns portal.

Customers with any additional questions regarding the ongoing recall can contact the 32 Degrees Recall Team at 833-997-2452 or email@32degrees.com between 9am to 5pm ET, Monday through Friday.
