Jaguar Land Rover is recalling more than 170,000 vehicles in the United States due to a loss of drive power, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The agency said the DC-DC converter may have failed due to an internal defect in the boost control microchip. Failure of the DC-DC converter will result in loss of 12-volt system charging and may cause complete loss of drive power and exterior lighting.
According to the recall notice, the recall affects multiple models including the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport.

170,169 vehicles of the following makes and models are recalled:
- 2021-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Velar and Land Rover Discovery
- 2020-2023 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque
- 2019-2024 Land Rover Range Rover Sport
- 2020-2024 Land Rover Range Rover
- 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport
- 2020-2024 Land Rover Defender
- 2021-2024 Jaguar F-Pace
- 2021-2022 Jaguar E-Pace mild-hybrid electric vehicle
What to do if you have a recalled vehicle?
According to NHTSA, the remedy for this recall is still under development, and interim letters informing owners of the safety risk are expected to be sent on June 12. Owners can contact Land Rover customer service at 800-637-6837. Land Rover’s recall numbers for this recall are D126 and H575.
