President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the US would impose a 50% tariff on “any and all” goods imported from “any country that supplies military weapons to Iran.”
Trump said in a true social Post that any country found supplying arms to Iran would be subject to an “immediate” levy, without any “exclusions or exemptions”.
The President wrote: “Effective immediately, any country supplying military weapons to Iran will be subject to a 50% tariff on any and all goods sold to the United States. There will be no exclusions or exemptions!”
It came as Trump said the US would “work closely” with Iranian officials following the ceasefire agreement announced Tuesday and what Trump called “very productive regime change.”
Trump said in a separate Truth Social post that “there will be no enrichment of uranium” and that many of the 15 points in the US peace proposals had already been agreed upon.
Trump said, America and Iran will discuss relief from tariffs and sanctions.
