Publix is set to open five new locations in three states by the end of April, bringing its iconic green logo to customers throughout the Southeast.
According to the company’s “New Store Openings” page, five new locations will open their doors before the end of April, including three in Florida, one in Tennessee, and one in North Carolina.
As of March 2026, the chain operates more than 1,400 stores in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Publix, founded in 1930 in Winter Haven, Florida, by George W. Jenkins, currently employs more than 260,000 people, according to its website. The store was ranked #9 nationwide in the Best Grocery Stores of 2025 rankings by USA Today.

Where is Publix opening stores?
The following five stores are scheduled to open between March 26 and April 30.
- 13123 Kingston Pike, Farragut, Tennessee – March 26
- 1975 Silverleaf Parkway, Ste 101, St. Augustine, Florida – March 26
- 160 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill, Florida – April 2
- 4628 Guess Road, Durham, North Carolina – April 11
- 4267 Dundee Road, Winter Haven, Florida – April 30
