There are approximately 60 million millionaires in the world, and just over 3,000 billionaires. Although joining the billionaire club may seem even more impossible than achieving millionaire status, one eminent man has actually proved that it is possible to become so rich with a little luck and hard work.
As a former “Shark Tank” star and partial owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Mark Cuban has an estimated net worth of around $6 billion. As one of America’s most successful businessmen, Cuban knows how to make money and get ahead. Here’s what you can learn from Cuba’s success.
hard work
Cuba is no stranger to hard work. Through his perseverance and due diligence, he has become one of the most successful and wealthy entrepreneurs in the country.
Cuban said, “Everyone has a desire to succeed… but the most important part is the work you do to prepare to succeed.”
He said that success is mostly the result of hard work, which everyone should understand if they want to get ahead. On the other hand, he also explained that part of success is luck.
pure luck
Cuban remarked that “Life is half random.” He told that his path to becoming a billionaire depended not only on his hard work but also on timing and luck.
Cuban, who was born in 1958 and founded the Internet audio and video streaming service Broadcast.com, explained that timing was everything when it came to his early success.
“I was born at the right time so that when Internet technology really took off and we were able to start AudioNet — which turned into Broadcast.com — which went public, I could sell for $5.7 billion in stock,” Cuban explained.
He had no control over the development of the Internet, but he said that the timing of when he came into the business and when the Internet actually took off made a big difference. However, he also said that it is what you do with luck that matters.
Cuban said, “Life is half random: What you do with the half you can control really sets a direction for your entire life.”
