President Donald Trump said Friday morning he is holding a meeting in the Situation Room “to make a final decision” after listing everything Iran must do to approve a deal to end the war.

It was not immediately clear from Trump’s statement true social Their ‘make or break’ terms are already part of the preliminary agreement that US and Iranian negotiators are currently working on to prevent a three-month-old war.

Trump demanded in the post, Iran “must agree” never to possess a nuclear weapon and that the Strait of Hormuz be “immediately open” to unrestricted shipping traffic.

He also said that the US naval blockade in the Gulf of Oman “will now be lifted” in retaliation against Iran, although it was unclear whether he meant that the move would only be taken if preconditions were met.

Trump also said that rich material buried at the site of last year’s attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities would be “discovered” and destroyed by the US in close coordination and conjunction with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency.

“No money will be exchanged until further notice,” Trump said. “Other items, which are of much less importance, have been agreed upon.”

“I will now hold a meeting in the situation room to take a final decision,” he said.

Oil prices fell after Trump’s post.

The exact terms of the deal currently being discussed are unclear. A White House official confirmed to Axios on Thursday report That US and Iranian negotiating teams have reached a 60-day memorandum of understanding that will extend the ongoing ceasefire and establish nuclear talks.

That memorandum would also lift sanctions in the strait and specify that Iran must remove all mines from the waterway within 30 days, while the US would lift its blockade accordingly.

Addressing Iran’s highly enriched uranium and enrichment targets during the 60-day period will be a top priority, Axios reports. The draft will also accelerate negotiations on sanctions relief and the release of frozen Iranian funds.

Trump’s latest signal of progress toward a US-Iran peace deal stands in contrast to recent economic and military clashes between the countries, as well as the persistent anti-US stance of Iranian officials and state media.

Iran launched a ballistic missile toward Kuwait and deployed attack drones in and around the strait, the Pentagon said Thursday morning. Iranian media reported late Thursday local time that the country’s armed forces fired missiles at unknown targets.

The US Treasury Department announced new sanctions against Iran on Wednesday and Thursday, including targeting Tehran’s new effort to establish control over transit through the strait.

Iranian officials appeared defiant toward the U.S. in an X-post published before Trump’s statement Friday morning, citing their relations with their Middle East neighbors, including Oman, a recent target of Trump’s threats.

Oman has Allegedly Talks are ongoing with Iran about imposing tariffs on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil-shipping route that has been largely blocked by Iranian threats since the war began.

“Oman will behave just like everybody else, or we’ll have to blow them up,” Trump said at a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday. On Thursday, Treasury Secretary Scott Besant warned Oman that the US would “aggressively target” anyone involved in “facilitating tolls” for the strait.

A social media account translated in the name of Iranian parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf x post On Friday morning, a cryptic but incisive account of the state of the talks was presented.

Ghalibaf’s account reads, “We achieve concessions not through negotiations, but through missiles; in negotiations, we merely explain them.”

“We have no faith in guarantees or words – the only remedy is action. No action will be taken until the other party takes action,” the post said. “The winner of any agreement is the one who is better prepared for war the next day.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Posted by Araghchi That he spoke to his Omani counterpart and “expressed Iran’s solidarity with Oman in the face of any threats.”

Iran would have to agree that they will never possess nuclear weapons or a bomb. The Strait of Hormuz should be open immediately to unrestricted shipping traffic in both directions, no tolls. All water mines (bombs), if any, will be eliminated (we have removed many such mines with our great underwater mine sweepers, through detonation. Iran will complete the immediate removal and/or detonation of whatever mines remain, which will not be very many!). Ships stranded in the Straits due to our wonderful and unprecedented naval blockade, which will now be lifted, can begin the process of “going home”. From me, say hello to your favorite President, your wives, husbands, parents and families! The rich material, sometimes known as “nuclear dust”, buried deep underground with mountains nearly demolished by our powerful B2 bomber attack 11 months ago, sitting on top of it, will be located by the United States (which is the only country, along with China, that has the mechanical capability to do so!), in close coordination and conjunction with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, and destroyed. No money will be exchanged until further notice. Other items, which are of much less importance, have been agreed upon. Now I will hold a meeting in the situation room to take the final decision. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President Donald J. Trump
