The deadline to file claims in Krispy Kreme’s $1.6 million settlement is fast approaching, stemming from a class-action lawsuit alleging the donut chain failed to prevent a data breach in November 2024.
The lawsuit alleges that personal information – including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and financial account access information – was leaked. Krispy Kreme denies any wrongdoing or liability.
According to the settlement website, if you are an individual residing in the United States and have been sent a data breach notice indicating that your personal information may have been affected, you are included in this category.
When is the last date for filing claim?
Claim must be filed by 22 June To be eligible for payment to consumers. The last date to withdraw yourself from the agreement or raise objection to it is June 6.
What eligible consumers can receive
All class members can get $75 cash paymentAccording to the Krispy Kreme settlement website. The amount may change depending on the number of claims filed.
Class members with documented impairments can receive up to $3,500 To reimburse for fraud, identity theft and other losses. The claim form must include proof including receipts, emails or phone records.
Class members who do not submit a claim will still receive access to one year of credit monitoring. The settlement website said class members should have received an activation code on their postcard notice.
How to submit a claim
Class members may submit a claim on the Krispy Kreme settlement website or by mailing the settlement administrator at the address on the claim form. Claim forms are also available by calling 877-239-1879.
