Select organic ice cream products sold in 17 states are being recalled due to concerns that they may contain metal fragments.

Straus Family Creamery has announced a voluntary recall of certain flavors and sizes of its Organic Super Premium ice cream due to the potential presence of foreign metal ingredients, according to a notice published on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s website.

The company said only specific production runs identified by “best by” dates are affected. No injuries have been reported.

The recalled ice cream products were distributed to retailers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin. The products began appearing on store shelves on May 4.

Which ice cream products are affected by the recall?

The recalled Straus Family Creamery Organic Super Premium ice cream products can be identified by the flavor, container size, UPC and best by date printed on the bottom of the container. Affected products include vanilla bean ice cream in pint containers with best-by dates of December 23, 2026 and December 28, 2026, both with UPC 7-84830-10030-6.

The recall also includes Strawberry Ice Cream in quart containers, UPC 7-84830-10097-9, with a best by date of December 24, 2026, and Strawberry Ice Cream in pint containers, UPC 7-84830-10095-5, with a best by date of December 25, 2026.

    Recall also affects:
